Visual Spectrum has been awarded the contract to deliver the Urban Animation programme for the 2026 Lú Festival of Light.

The Lú Festival of Light will take place from October 23 to 26, 2026, and will once again see Drogheda’s streets, buildings, and historic spaces transformed through light, projection, and storytelling.

Commenting on the success of the festival, Cllr Michelle Hall, Mayor of Drogheda said:

“Lú Festival of Light delivers tangible benefits for the people of Drogheda, animating our public spaces, celebrating our rich heritage, and driving footfall and economic activity across the town. It has become an event that the community takes real pride in, strengthening Drogheda’s reputation as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. This success is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the team behind the festival, whose collaborative approach has been central to its continued growth and impact.”

Trevor Connolly, CEO of Love Drogheda BID, welcomed the renewed partnership:
“We are extremely excited to be working again with a team that has played such a pivotal role in the growth and success of Lú. Visual Spectrum’s technical expertise and creative vision have enabled us to bring to life the rich tapestry of Irish mythology over the past four years and illuminate our historic buildings. Their work has elevated the festival experience by reigniting and deepening audience engagement with these timeless stories.”

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council, also welcomed the announcement and highlighted the importance of continued investment in cultural events:
