The Office of Public Works has announced the return of a series of living history tours at the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre this summer.
The programme offers visitors a chance to step back into the 17th century, with interactive experiences designed to bring history to life at the Oldbridge Estate.
Led by Laoch Living History, the tours will feature costumed interpreters including musketeers, artillery gunners, blacksmiths, monks and soldiers, giving an insight into life during the time of the Battle of the Boyne.
Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, Kevin “Boxer” Moran, said:
“I am delighted to see such interesting educational tours on offer over the coming months at the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre. The tours promise to engage visitors and offer them an insight into what life was like for soldiers on the battlefield. Why not pay a visit, step back in time and soak up the beautiful surroundings of Oldbridge Estate”.
Visitors can also join historian Tóla Collier for guided battlefield walks, exploring the tactics, strategies and daily life of the era.
The tours aim to provide an engaging and educational experience for history enthusiasts, families and visitors looking to learn more about this important period in Irish history.
