Tredagh Boxing Academy celebrates major Leinster and All Ireland success

Tredagh Boxing Academy has celebrated one of its most successful championship seasons to date following a strong run across the Leinster and All Ireland championships.

The Drogheda club finished the campaign with five Leinster gold medals, three Leinster silver medals and several national medals, further strengthening its reputation on both the provincial and national stage.

Among the standout performances was Adam Walsh, who was crowned Leinster Champion before later reaching the All Ireland semi finals in his debut season at the National Stadium.

Stanley Lavery also impressed during the Leinster Championships, reaching the final and claiming a silver medal in only his first year of competitive boxing.

Simon McDonagh added another Leinster silver medal for the club, while Sasha Donica narrowly missed out on a finals place following a split decision defeat in the semi finals.

At national level, Conan McCormack represented the club strongly in the All Ireland quarter finals after already winning the Louth Open, Dublin Leagues and Leinster Championship earlier in the season.

Cian Smyth enjoyed a memorable run to the All Ireland final, where he secured a national silver medal following a series of strong performances throughout the competition.

Vinny Devine was also forced to settle for national silver after injury ruled him out of his scheduled All Ireland final.

One of the club’s biggest achievements came through Michael James McDonagh, who was crowned All Ireland Champion for a remarkable sixth time.

Grace Conway also enjoyed major success at the All Ireland Universities and Colleges Championships, winning her tenth national title and claiming her first senior crown.

The victory was a proud moment for Conway, Carlow College, Dunleer and Tredagh Boxing Academy.

Together, Conway and McDonagh now hold a combined total of sixteen All Ireland titles.

Club officials praised the commitment, development and performances shown by all fighters throughout what has become one of the academy’s most successful seasons.
