South Drogheda and East Meath Councillor, Stephen McKee, has called on both the ESB and the Developer of Bryanstown Wood to resolve outstanding issues which have prevented residents from moving into their new homes.
According to the Fianna Fail Councillor there is a delay on new residents moving into their new homes in Phase 2 of the new Bryanstown Wood development at Beamore, Drogheda, County Meath.
“It appears that the ESB have to complete cabling and sub-station works” he said. “I’m asking that all outstanding works are carried out as soon as possible.
“Residents, who were due to move into their homes this month, have now been told that they may not be able to move in until next February.
“This is causing great stress and worry on these families particularly in advance of Christmas.
“Issues like this frustrate and ultimately delay housing delivery in general and make it even harder for people to secure affordable homes.
“At a time of rising building material costs, it is particularly important that we do everything possible to cut out delays and increase efficiency.
“A greater sense of urgency is now required to ensure these homes in Bryanstown Wood are delivered as soon as possible and I call on all parties involved to resolve this for the benefit of the new homeowners” he concluded.
