Drogheda go into this game following a 2-0 defeat away to Waterford in the RSC on October 5.
Tommy Lonergan’s header put Waterford in front ten minutes into the second half. Drogheda pushed for an equaliser, going close through both Jack Stretton and Andrew Quinn.
However, Waterford sealed the three points in injury time through a finish from Jesse Dempsey.
There have been three meetings between Drogheda and Cork so far this season. Both games at Turners Cross have finished 1-1, while the game at Sullivan and Lambe Park in May ended 3-2 to Drogheda.
In that game, Cork took an early lead before goals from Shane Farrell and Warren Davis either side of the break saw Drogheda take the lead. Cork equalised with four minutes of normal time remaining before Ryan Brennan’s injury time penalty saw Kevin Doherty’s side take all three points.
In team news, Elicha Ahui (knee) remains ruled out through injury.
