Dundalk Institute of Technology is to receive more than €1.3 million in capital funding as part of a nationwide investment in higher education infrastructure.
Louth TD and Chairperson of the Higher Education Committee Erin McGreehan welcomed the €1,343,466 allocation for DkIT.
The funding has been awarded through the Higher Education Devolved Capital Grant Programme, with more than €40 million being invested nationally.
The programme supports projects including building upgrades, energy efficiency and decarbonisation measures, health and safety improvements, accessibility enhancements, refurbishment works and the purchase or renewal of equipment and ICT infrastructure.
‘Vital role in our region’
Deputy McGreehan said:
This investment will help ensure that students and staff have access to modern, high-quality facilities that support excellence in teaching, learning and research.
Dundalk Institute of Technology plays a vital role in our region, contributing to education, innovation, skills development and economic growth. This investment will help ensure that it continues to thrive and deliver opportunities for current and future generations of students.
I look forward to seeing the positive impact this investment will have for students, staff and the wider community.
The allocation forms part of the Government’s continued investment in higher education under Budget 2027, ensuring institutions across the country have the facilities, equipment and capacity required to meet growing student and research needs.
