Coca-Cola Ireland’s Drogheda operations have presented €50,000 in donations to community organisations through a special fund created to mark fifty years of connection with the local community.
The fund was established last year and will support non profit organisations focused on health, wellbeing and inclusion across Drogheda and the surrounding area.
The funding will help local groups deliver projects ranging from new sports equipment for community clubs to improved care services for families in the region.
Coca-Cola first established operations in Drogheda in 1975 and the company says its local presence has continued to grow and evolve over the past five decades.
Today, the company’s Southgate hub in Drogheda is home to a global shared services division providing finance, legal and operational support to Coca-Cola entities around the world.
The Drogheda operation forms part of the wider Coca-Cola system on the island of Ireland, which includes Coca-Cola Ireland and Coca-Cola HBC and employs more than 1,500 people.

Recipients of the funding include six organisations from Drogheda and the surrounding area.

Speaking at the charity presentation, Melissa Murphy, Site Lead for Coca-Cola Ireland’s Drogheda Operations said: “As we celebrate 50 years of Coca-Cola in Drogheda, this is a moment of real pride for all of us. The community has been at the heart of our story since 1975, and it’s important that we recognise the crucial role that local people and organisations have played in our shared success over the decades. This funding demonstrates our continued commitment to investing in the local community and supporting the incredible organisations that truly make a difference in the local area.”
Lauren McGinn, Chairperson of Drogheda Boys & Girls Football Club, said: “Coca-Cola’s support will have a huge impact on our club and our players. Their donation is helping us move into the construction phase of a project that will significantly improve the experience for everyone involved in Drogheda Boys & Girls FC. Just as importantly, it represents an important first step in delivering Project 2041, our long-term vision to transform the club into a modern community football hub that will support over 500 players and create opportunities for young people in Drogheda for generations to come.”
