Only a few days remain to register for the 15th Northeast Dip in the Nip , and if you’ve been thinking about doing it, this might be the little push you need.
Have you been thinking about doing the Dip in the Nip this year?
Have you mentioned it to a friend, thought about gathering a few of the girls, or looked at the registration page and said, “I’ll decide later”?
Well, later has arrived.
Registration closes on 31st August, and with only a few days remaining, we’re reaching out to every woman who has been thinking about joining us:
Come on ladies, we need you.
Don’t worry if the friend you planned to do it with can’t make it. Don’t worry if you haven’t managed to organise a group. And please don’t think you need to know somebody else going.
You can come on your own.
The minute you arrive, you’ll be surrounded by women of all ages and from every walk of life who are there for exactly the same reason.
And if you’re reading about the Dip for the first time, here’s what it’s all about.
On Sunday, 13th September 2026, hundreds of women will come together for the 15th Northeast Dip in the Nip, a very special female-only event held on a private beach.
For a few unforgettable minutes, women leave their everyday lives behind and walk into the sea together, raising funds to support NECRET and cancer services at the North East Oncology Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
For 15 years, women have taken part for all sorts of reasons.
Some dip in memory of somebody they have lost. Some do it for a friend or family member going through cancer. Some are cancer survivors themselves. Others simply want to do something positive to support cancer patients in their own community.
Whatever brings you to that beach, you become part of it together.
You don’t have to be young. You don’t have to be super-fit. You certainly don’t have to have the “perfect body”.
You just have to be a woman over 18 who’s willing to say:
“Go on. I’ll do it.”
And Here’s Another Idea – Ask Your Boss!
If you’d love to do the Dip, why not take it into work with you?
Ask your boss or company to get behind you and let you represent your workplace at this year’s Dip.
Tell them what you’re doing and why.
They could sponsor you, encourage your colleagues to support you, share your fundraising efforts with customers or simply proudly say:
“She’s representing us at the Dip in the Nip.”
And businesses reading this can get involved too. If you have a woman on your team who has decided to take part, get behind her. Make some noise about it. Rally the workplace around her and help her raise as much as she can.
Imagine women arriving on that beach representing shops, salons, hotels, offices, factories, restaurants, schools, hospitals, clubs and businesses from right across the North East.
Behind every one of them could be a workplace saying:
“We’re with you.”
But most importantly, this final call is to you: the woman who has been thinking about doing it.
You’ve still got time.
Grab your sister. Ring your friend. Message the girls. Ask a workmate. Ask your boss to get behind you.
