Congratulations to Leaving Cert students across Drogheda and the North East as CAO offers approach
CAO offers 2026 will be released tomorrow as Leaving Certificate students across Drogheda and the North East look ahead to the next stage of their lives.
Following the release of Leaving Certificate results on Friday, students who applied through the CAO will be able to access first round offers from 2pm on Wednesday, 26th August.
For many, tomorrow will bring excitement and plenty of nerves as they wait to find out whether they have secured a place on one of their chosen courses.
But Leaving Cert results and CAO points are only one part of the journey.
Different paths after school
Some students will be preparing to take up places in universities and colleges, while others have chosen apprenticeships, further education or a move directly into the workplace.
For those beginning their working lives, it is the start of a new chapter too, with new careers, opportunities and experiences ahead.
There is no single route after secondary school, and plans can change considerably along the way.
A CAO offer can open one door, but not receiving a particular offer does not mean opportunities have run out either.
The first round is only one stage of the CAO process. Round Two offers are due on 7th September, with further rounds scheduled later in the month where places remain available.
Students who receive a Round One offer have until 3pm on Tuesday, 1st September to respond.

More than 70,000 candidates received Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied results this year, including students throughout Drogheda, Louth, Meath and the wider North East.
