O Raghallaighs- Integral GAA Grounds Launches Community Film Awards Fundraiser

O Raghallaighs- Integral GAA Grounds is preparing for a major community fundraiser with the launch of the O Raghallaighs Film Awards.

The event will raise funds to support the long-term development of the club, with money invested in facilities, equipment and player development for both juvenile and senior teams.

Funds raised will help upgrade juvenile pitch facilities, providing a safe, modern and enjoyable environment for young players to train, develop their skills and enjoy sport. The fundraising will also support the continued growth of the juvenile section through equipment, coaching resources and more opportunities for participation across all age levels.

A portion of the funds will also support the senior teams, helping the club continue to offer quality facilities, coaching and development pathways for players from juvenile level through to adulthood.

Fundraising of this nature will have a lasting impact on the future of the club. By investing today, O Raghallaighs- Integral GAA Grounds is creating a stronger foundation for future generations of players.

Improved juvenile facilities will help attract and retain young members, while the continued growth of the club’s juvenile section will provide a steady pathway for players to progress through the ranks. The initiative also aims to strengthen the connection between juvenile and senior teams while fostering a strong sense of community, belonging and club pride.

Around 100 people are taking part in the films, including club members and people from across the wider community. Each participant will help raise money for their movie through a variety of fundraising activities, with the club coming together to support one another and enjoy the experience.

The production of the films will be led by Kevin Rowe Productions. O Raghallaighs said they were inspired by the success other clubs have had with similar events and, as the first club in Drogheda to host a fundraiser of this kind, wanted to bring the concept to the local community.

The club is led by chairperson Jenny Rogan Kirkwood, the first woman to hold the role in its history, as O Raghallaighs prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary next year.

Organisers are also inviting local businesses to support the Film Awards. They say no business is too big or too small and that the initiative provides an excellent opportunity for businesses to strengthen their connection with the local community.

The club also extended its sincere thanks to all of its existing sponsors for their continued support, acknowledging the important role they play in helping O Raghallaighs continue to grow and develop.

Every contribution made through the Film Awards will be an investment in the players, volunteers and community members who will shape the future of O Raghallaighs- Integral GAA Grounds.
