Drogheda United return to Premier Division action on Friday evening with a trip to Dalymount Park to face Bohemians.
The Boynesiders head into the game in good spirits following last week’s 1-0 victory over Derry City at Sullivan & Lambe Park.
Chances were limited in the opening half, with Patrick McClean coming closest for Derry when his header was cleared off the line by Shane Farrell.
Fynn Talley then produced a crucial double save early in the second half to deny efforts from Barr and Clarke and keep the game level.
Just minutes later, Drogheda made the breakthrough.
Thomas Oluwa started a counter attack before finding Warren Davis, who was brought down inside the box by Jamie Stott. Captain Ryan Brennan stepped up and calmly converted from the penalty spot to give Drogheda the lead.
Derry pushed hard for an equaliser late on and almost found one when Henry Rylah struck the underside of the crossbar from long range with just three minutes remaining.
The earlier meeting between Drogheda United and Bohemians this season ended in a scoreless draw at Sullivan & Lambe Park.
In team news, Scott Brady, Owen Lambe, Ethan O’Brien, Bridel Bosakani, and Jason Bucknor all remain sidelined through injury.
