People across County Louth are being invited to discover local groups, services and volunteering opportunities at a free Louth Community Expo later this month.
The event will take place at Lann Léire, Pavilions, Dunleer on Wednesday, 30th September from 10.30am to 2pm.
Organised by Age Friendly Louth and Louth Public Participation Network, the Expo will bring together community, voluntary, social inclusion and environmental organisations from across the county.
Visitors will be able to meet local groups, learn more about supports available in their communities and find out how they can get involved.
Workshops, demonstrations and information stands
The Community Expo will include exhibitor stalls from community groups, charities and social enterprises.
There will also be interactive workshops and demonstrations, along with an opportunity to take part in a consultation on Community Wellbeing.
Presentations will include contributions from the Road Safety Authority and physiotherapist Ann Orr, while free refreshments will also be available.

Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council Cllr Dolores Minogue said the event would highlight the work being carried out by volunteers and community organisations across the county.
“The strength of County Louth lies in its communities and in the people who give their time, energy and expertise to support others. This Expo is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the wide range of organisations and initiatives that are enhancing community wellbeing across the county, while inspiring even more people to become involved in community life.
“Whether you are new to the area, recently retired, looking for volunteering opportunities, hoping to make new social connections, or simply interested in learning more about the services and supports available in your community, I would encourage you to come along. It’s a chance to meet local groups, discover new opportunities and see first-hand how people across County Louth are working together to build stronger, more connected and inclusive communities.”
More than 670 organisations represented through Louth PPN
Louth PPN is a countywide network representing more than 670 organisations and works across the community and voluntary, environmental and social inclusion sectors.
Louth County Council describes the Public Participation Network as the formal structure through which voluntary groups can engage with local government and public consultation.
Anna Ryan, Louth PPN Resource Worker with Louth County Council, said:
“This Expo is about shining a light on the incredible work happening every day in towns and villages across County Louth. It’s a chance to celebrate, connect, and inspire future action.”
Age Friendly Louth Coordinator Sinead McVerry added:
“The Community Expo empowers people of all ages to prioritise community wellbeing and social connections while showcasing the many community supports available in Co Louth.”
Age Friendly Louth works with local organisations and older people to improve services, participation and quality of life across the county.
Admission to the Community Expo is free, but registration is recommended.
