Students and schools across Louth are being encouraged to enter the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2027 before the application deadline on Friday, 25th September.
Fianna Fáil TD Erin McGreehan has urged local students and teachers to consider putting forward a project for next year’s exhibition, which will take place at the RDS in Dublin from 6th to 9th January 2027.
Students can enter projects across five categories: Biological and Ecological Science; Chemical, Physical and Mathematical Science; Health and Wellbeing; Social and Behavioural Science; and Technology.
Bigger prize fund for 2027
The total prize fund has increased by 25% for the 2027 competition.
More than 150 prizes will be awarded, with the overall winner or winners receiving €10,000 and the opportunity to represent Ireland at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists.
The Stripe YSTE Travel Bursary has also increased by 25% to €150,000, helping schools with transport and accommodation costs for students and teachers travelling to the four-day exhibition.
Deputy McGreehan said the competition gives students an opportunity to develop and test their own ideas.
“The Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition gives students a fantastic opportunity to explore an idea, test their thinking and share their work with others. I would encourage students and teachers across Louth to take a look and consider putting forward a project before the 25 September deadline.”
How to enter
Students must complete an online application and submit a one-page project proposal by 25th September 2026.
The official application guidance states that student entries close at 5pm, while teachers have until 28th September at 5pm to complete their assessment forms.
Finalists are due to be announced on 23rd October, with selected projects going on display at the RDS in January.
