Drogheda United have confirmed that goalkeeper Luke Dennison has signed a new two-year contract, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.
The 29-year-old American joined Drogheda in July 2024 and has since become a key figure between the posts.
He made 18 appearances in his debut season, keeping eight clean sheets as the club lifted the 2024 Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup and secured their Premier Division status.
So far this season, Dennison has added a further 34 appearances, bringing his tally to 52 in all competitions.
Reflecting on his new deal, Dennison said the club already feels like home: “Winning the FAI Cup last year and pushing on this season has been incredible. We’re fighting for European places with seven games to go, and that’s exactly where this club deserves to be.
“The supporters are the best in the country – their belief gives us confidence and they feel like the twelfth man on the pitch. I want to be the best goalkeeper in the country and help Drogheda challenge for cups, leagues, and Europe.”
Manager Kevin Doherty also praised Dennison’s impact: “I’m absolutely delighted Luke has committed to us. He’s been outstanding since day one, not just as a goalkeeper but as a person.
“His clean sheet record speaks for itself, his shot-stopping is top class, and he has a massive presence in the dressing room. For me, he’s been one of the best goalkeepers in the league, and having him extend his stay is huge for the club.”
Dennison’s renewal marks another big step for Drogheda United as they continue to build momentum both on and off the pitch.
