After 16 months of streaming events on laptops, tablets and phones across Counties Louth and Meath, Droichead Arts Centre is excited to announce a packed programme of live events for the coming months beginning with a re-opening of its gallery space on Saturday, 10 July.
In a landscape
Droichead Arts Centre gallery reopens on 10 July with the solo exhibition In a landscape | sculpture works by John Moloney. Drogheda artist John Moloney’s work demonstrates a light touch, a playfulness that belies a seriousness at its heart. Working with found, pre-used, often discarded materials Moloney creates a world of animated sculptures – animal like, anthropomorphic, some purely exploring materials and their possibilities.
The exhibition will run until 28 August.28 August. Artist John Moloney and curator Dorothy Smith will be available for chats on the opening day 10 July from 12pm – 4pm and at various occasions across the run.
Visual Arts
Droichead’s visual arts programme from September includes Taisce Lú, CountyLouth’s Art Collection, followed by an exhibition from artist Olga Duka, the recipient of the First Solo Award 2021 premiering later that month.
