Tredagh Boxing Academy enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the prestigious Manchester Junior Box Cup, returning home with two gold medals, a silver medal and a wealth of valuable international experience.
Competing against some of the best young boxers from Ireland, England and Wales, the Drogheda club impressed throughout the tournament, with every athlete producing strong performances on the international stage.
Emma Carter marked her competitive debut with an excellent display to claim silver after a narrow split decision defeat in the final. Sasha Donica, Dylan Ross and Ceejay Sheelan all gained valuable experience against top class opposition, with each boxer facing eventual or current champions during the competition.
Stanley Lavery was one of the standout performers of the weekend, producing a series of impressive displays to claim the Manchester Junior Box Cup title after defeating a Welsh silver medallist in the final.
Conan McCormack also struck gold, showing tremendous determination and endurance throughout the tournament before being crowned champion following a hard fought victory in his final.

Adam Walsh was unfortunate to miss out on a title after delivering an outstanding performance in his final, eventually losing by a controversial split decision despite impressing many in attendance.
In addition to her silver medal, Emma Carter also stepped back into the ring for an exhibition bout against a heavier opponent, demonstrating the fearless attitude that has become a hallmark of the club.
The successful weekend highlighted the strength and depth of Tredagh Boxing Academy, with the club’s young boxers continuing to develop through high level international competition.
Supported throughout the weekend by coaches, parents and club members, the team displayed excellent spirit both inside and outside the ring, reinforcing Tredagh Boxing Academy’s growing reputation as one of Ireland’s leading amateur boxing clubs.
