Christmas is a time for giving, and for many Irish households, that generosity extends to furry friends. A recent survey reveals that nearly half of pet owners (43%) plan to spend between âŹ20 and âŹ50 on festive treats and gifts for their animals. More than one in five are willing to spend up to âŹ100, while a dedicated 6% go all out, happily exceeding âŹ100 to make their petsâ Christmas truly special. For many, spoiling their pets has become an important part of the seasonal celebrations.
Pets Take Priority Over Partners. When it comes to Christmas spending, Irish people are almost evenly split. Almost half of respondents (46%) admitted they would spend more on their pet than their partner. According to the survey, the festive favourites often come down to who is cuter, who gives the best cuddles, and who is least likely to complain. For a number of households, itâs clear that pets have the upper paw when it comes to Christmas gifts.
