Paul’s 1,000 burpees raises €3,563 for Tredagh Lodge

Paul Kierans did 1,000 burpees in 2/3 Hours on Saturday, July 29th in Aid of Tredagh Lodge Alzheimer Day Care Centre.

Last Saturday he dropped in to the centre to present them with a cheque for €3,563. That’s €3.56 per burpee!

Paul, a carpenter from Brookeville, is a regular supporter of Tredagh Lodge since his mother Caroline succumbed to the horrible disease last September.

“This was an incredibly tough challenge” Paul said, “but somethings are worth fighting for and hopefully we can make Alzheimer’s sufferers feel a little more comfortable.

“Alzheimer’s is spread through our community and Tredagh Lodge provide a beautiful centre in Greenhills for people to bring their loved ones.

“Sometimes it’s good to give back.”

Ann Shortt, the Chairperson of the Tredagh Lodge Fundraising Committee, said she was delighted to welcome Paul and members of the Kieran’s family to centre last weekend after Paul’s amazing fundraiser of 1000 burpees.

She described Paul as “a brave man who challenged himself to raise funds for Tredagh Lodge.

“€ 3,563 was raised by Paul and Breanna Johnston from Tredagh Boxing club who supported Paul and did 500 Burpees on the day. Thanks again to all who supported him on the day and donated to Paul’s fundraiser.”
