The Moneymore Townland Community Hub fundraising committee has launched its next major fundraising event for the new Moneymore Townland Community Hub.
The Murray & Son Coaches Drogheda Easter 5km race will take place on Easter Monday, April 6 at 11am. The event is open to runners, joggers, walkers and families.
Organisers are delighted that local business Murray & Son Coaches is once again on board as title sponsor of the race for the second year. Murray and Son Coaches has provided transport for all of Connect FRC and Cable’s community trips for more than 10 years. There are still opportunities for other sponsors to get involved and support the event.
The aim of the Moneymore Townland Community Hub, also known as MTCH, is to bring a wide range of community services together under one roof. The services involved include Connect Family Resource Centre, Cable Youth Diversion Project, Moneymore Childcare Centre and Moneymore Afterschool Project, all of which need the space to expand to meet the growing and complex needs of the area.
The fundraising committee said: “We are making great strides to secure funding for this Community Hub facility to be progressed, but the community is required to raise €300,000 match funding, not an easy task!”
The community hub will become the home of new and existing services focused on family life, health, education, recreation and more. It will be a space designed to enable and empower people to achieve their ambitions and lead fulfilling lives within the community.
The Murray & Son Coaches Drogheda Easter 5km race offers an opportunity for people across the community to help raise vital funds for the project.
The new Moneymore Townland Community Hub will be a vibrant space featuring a community café and recreation hall where people can come together to learn, grow, connect and thrive. By supporting the initiative, people will be contributing to the wellbeing and future of the community for generations to come.
