Leinster Cross Country Medals for Ace AC

Ace Athletics Club had a large group compete in the 2023 even age, Leinster Cross Country Championship at Mountain View, in Ballyhale on Saturday.

As always there were huge numbers in each race and only top 12 finishes, guaranteed Leinster medals and of course, the all-important National Cross Country qualification.

Ace AC picked up their first medals of the day in the u16 girls race with the talented Sholah Lawrence and Chloe Cooney (running out of age) finishing in an impressive 2nd and 7th place. Ciara O’Connor in 23rd and Kate Culhane joined the duo, with the 4 girls winning silver club team.

The next medal came in the u16 boys race with hard working Lorcan Forde Dunne finishing in a brilliant 2nd place. Rhys Clarke, Fergus Nolan, Killian Sheridan, Tadgh Forde Dunne all ran well in the same race.

Next medal of the day went to Eimear Cooney, running out of age in the u18s. Eimear continued her good form finishing 2nd and also securing a gold team medal with the Louth Cross Country team.

Final medal of the day for Ace went to Shea O’Donnell running out of age in the u18s who finished strongly in 7th. Neil Culhanne had to retire from the race due to injury.

Sophie and Hannah Black, Tayo Lawrence, Kate Odonnell and Lauren Faulkner all participated in the younger age groups while Cliodhna Nolan ran in the novice women’s race.
