Fine Gael local election candidate Anne Marie Ford formally launched her local election campaign for Drogheda Rural last Friday evening at a busy event in the Monasterboice Inn.
The launch was attended by local Fine Gael Representatives, Fergus O’Dowd TD, Senator John McGahon, local councillors and the Fine Gael North West candidate for upcoming European Elections, Nina Carberry, amongst others.
Deputy O’Dowd spoke at the event highlighting Anne-Marie’s unwavering focus on improving early intervention services and ensuring equality of access for children across all levels of education.
Deputy O’Dowd said ” I met Anne-Marie a number of years ago through her campaign highlighting the urgent requirement for additional special education services locally and I know and believe that Anne-Marie has great integrity, dedication and always willing to help those most in need.”
Anne-Marie is the current Principal of Scoil Naomh Cholmcille in Tullydonnell where she has worked since 2010.
Anne Marie said “I have been campaigning tirelessly for better services and supports for children with additional needs to ensure that their voices and the voices of their parents are heard at the highest level.
“I feel very strongly about the importance of community and I believe we must do much more to care effectively for our elderly and allow them to remain in their homes where that is possible. We need increased home care support provision and we need a statutory home-support scheme in place at the earliest opportunity.
“I’m asking for your trust and your number one vote on June 7th to bring about real change for Drogheda Rural and enable me to work and deliver better services and support for young and old.”
