Droichead Arts Centre – Fiona Kerbey ‘New Work 2019 – 2022’

An exhibition of work by Laytown ceramicist Fiona Kerbey, her first professional solo show, opened at the Droichead Arts Centre last week and will be on display until the 19th of November.

Fiona studied ceramics at Limerick School of Art & Design and completed her MA at NCAD. Her work has been exhibited widely and collected by the OPW and Limerick City Gallery of Art.

In addition to her own art practice, Fiona has recently developed a limited range of handmade tableware.

Fiona creates beautiful everyday objects that are both functional and to be loved and enjoyed, offered in thanksgiving and in hope.

Using bone china casting slip and flax-paper porcelain she remakes and reimagines things from the everyday, turning them into beautiful works of art. Beyond utility, they leave our lives and take on others.

Curated by Aoife Ruane, Director, Highlanes Municipal Gallery, Drogheda.
