Drogheda town centre has got a Spring clean-up for St Patrick’s Day.
The town is looking spic and span after Louth County Council workers gave West Street and Narrow West Street street a badly needed wash after all the recent rain and storms.
The footpaths were left spotless and all weeds around the area were removed.
It is now all systems go for the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday when there will be free car parking in the town for everyone.
The Mayor Michelle Hall, praised the council staff for their hard work and effort. She said: West Street is looking nice and clean for St Patrick’s Day. Louth County Council’s Operations team carried out a spring clean .
A reminder that car parking is free in Drogheda on St Patrick’s Day, making it easier to shop local, meet friends and enjoy the celebrations.
Councillor Pio Smith was also full of compliments for the council staff and said:” Great work by LCC staff in Drogheda getting the footpaths cleaned across the town centre. Well done to all involved.”
The following roads will be closed on Tuesday between 10am to 2.30pm, King Street, Palace Street, Laurence Street, West Street, Dominic Street, Wellington Quay, and the Port area.
