The Drogheda Lions Club prides itself on being at the heart of the community and one of their favourite events each year is the Tea Dance for senior citizens during Positive Ageing Week.
“We are delighted to have Coca-Cola Drogheda as our main sponsor this year” said Lions President Marian Agrios. “This is the eighth year of the Tea Dance following a two year break due to Covid. It will take place from 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon, 2nd October in the D Hotel.
The tea dance is eagerly anticipated each year, hugely successful and the organisers are positive that this year’s tea dance will be just as popular.
Anyone interested in having a fun afternoon with good, old fashioned dancing and chat over tea and delicious confectionery should contact their local senior citizens group or any Lions Club member to register for tickets.
“We very much look forward to welcoming you to our Tea Dance. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes!” says President, Marian Agrios at the launch in Scholars Hotel which is Lions HQ in Drogheda. “The Drogheda Lions Club motto is simple… ‘We Serve’, “we are delighted that so many of our senior citizens will enjoy a great afternoon kindly sponsored by so many of our local business people and members. Without them, we could not put on such an event.”
A Mass honouring Senior Citizens will be held on the same day at 1.15pm in the Augustinian Church, Shop Street, Drogheda.
The Tea Dance is just one of the events by which Drogheda Lions Club strives to serve the community, others include:
