The details of County Louth’s Africa Day celebrations have been announced by Flora Okobi, Event Coordinator with Culture Connect CLG.
Africa Day takes place on 25th May each year and celebrations to mark the day occur across the globe: in some African states, it is a national holiday, while in diverse cities – such as New York, London and Washington – academic gatherings and cultural showcases mark the day.
In Louth, Culture Connect have organised a series of events in Dundalk and Drogheda and they are inviting everyone to come along and celebrate the day and to learn more about Africa and its various cultures.
“We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate our forthcoming Africa Day event with us on May 25th and 28th, 2023 in Dundalk and Drogheda respectively” Flora said.
“Africa Day is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions of Africa. It is also a day we come together to promote unity and solidarity among people, as well as to raise awareness about the continent’s history, accomplishments, and challenges.
