Marymount National School has been awarded €1,000 in funding for Special Educational Needs (SEN) projects after topping the public vote in the Brooks “Drogheda Gives Back” community initiative.
The local school received strong support from the community to secure the funding, which will be used to enhance resources and opportunities for pupils. Students will also have an opportunity to help decide how the funding is spent, ensuring it benefits the areas that matter most to them.
Pat Moore, Managing Director of Brooks, said:
“At Brooks, we’re passionate about supporting the communities we serve. The response to our “Drogheda Gives Back” campaign was fantastic and highlighted the incredible work being carried out by schools, sports clubs and community organisations across the area. We’re delighted to award this funding to Marymount National School and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have for pupils.”
Piotr Gietkowski, Branch Manager at Brooks Drogheda, added:
“Community is at the heart of everything we do. It has been inspiring to see so many local organisations recognised through this campaign, and we’re especially pleased to support Marymount National School. Knowing that this funding will help create new opportunities for children makes it incredibly rewarding for our entire team.”
Jane Kirwan, Principal of Marymount National School, said:
“We are thrilled! We involved the children in deciding how the money should be spent and are incredibly grateful to Brooks Drogheda, our parents and everyone else who took the time to vote for us. We look forward to having some lovely extra outdoor resources for our pupils in September thanks to Brooks!”
The Brooks “Drogheda Gives Back” campaign invited local schools, sports clubs and community organisations to nominate themselves and take part in a public vote, celebrating the outstanding contribution these groups make to the Drogheda community every day.
