A new exhibition celebrating three decades of creativity at one of Ireland’s longest established independent artistic collectives has opened at Droichead Arts Centre in Drogheda.

The Things That Matter Most Are The Things That Can’t Be Seen brings together the work of eight artists from Bridge Street Studios in Dundalk, marking the collective’s 30th anniversary.

Since 1996, Bridge Street Studios has supported generations of emerging and established artists, providing a creative space where artistic practice and collaboration have flourished.

The exhibition explores themes of connection, community, heritage, landscape and the unseen forces that shape our lives through a diverse range of artistic disciplines.

Featured artists include Orlaith Cullinane, Rachel Tinniswood, Mary Cowan, Suzanne Carroll, Caóilfhíonn Murphy O’Hanlon, Orla Barry, Sarah McKenna and Fiona Quigley. Visitors can enjoy works spanning painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles and mixed media.

As part of the exhibition programme, visitors will also have the opportunity to hear directly from some of the exhibiting artists during two lunchtime talks.

Rachel Tinniswood and Orlaith Cullinane will speak on Saturday, 11 July at 12.30pm, while Orla Barry and Fiona Quigley will take part in a second talk on Wednesday, 29 July at 1pm.

The exhibition forms part of Droichead Arts Centre’s ongoing visual arts programme, celebrating contemporary artists and creative practice from across the region.
