Boyne Hockey Club, a prominent local sports club dedicated to promoting and developing hockey in the North East region of Leinster based in in Drogheda Grammar School, has unveiled a significant new partnership with key local businesses – Landy Muldoon, Hibernia Steel, Hayes & Associates Podiatrists and Irish Cement.
This vital sponsorship marks a significant milestone in the club’s shared mission to create a positive and enjoyable environment for boys, girls, women and men to play hockey while also addressing the unique challenges faced by female athletes.
“At Boyne Hockey Club, we wholeheartedly recognise the profound importance of sports, particularly for girls and women,” says Boyne Hockey Club President, Janell Callan.
“Participation in sports not only fosters physical health but also enhances mental well-being, teamwork, and leadership skills. However, we acknowledge the high drop-out rates among teenage girls, which often results in missed opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and long-term health benefits.”
Boyne’s sponsorship partners understand the pivotal role played by local businesses in the growth and sustainability of community-based sports organisations like Boyne Hockey Club.
Their generous support enables the club to plan and expand, ultimately benefiting our players and the broader community as a whole.
“Without the generous support of local businesses, it would be challenging for Boyne Hockey Club to implement our growth strategy. The involvement of these leading companies across multiple industry sectors empowers us to make ambitious plans for our players’ future.

“This partnership exemplifies the unwavering commitment of Landy Muldoon, Hibernia Steel, Hayes & Associates Podiatrists and Irish Cement to invest in the well-being and development of hockey in our community, ensuring that the sport remains an integral part of our players’ lives,” adds President, Janell Callan.
