Boyne AC get off to a fantastic start in cross country season

Boyne AC had a fantastic day at the return of the cross country season on Sunday 22nd September, hosted by Star of the Sea AC in the scenic hills of Stamullen, County Meath. With Star of the Sea’s head coach Brendan Meade designing the course, it was a true fitness test for all.

Three brave Boyne AC athletes took on the challenge, and they did the club proud! First up was the ever-impressive Ruby Winters who, even though she is only 7 years old, is no stranger to cross country competitions.

Ruby produced a brilliant time of 2:09 over a tough 500m course, showing everyone why she’s one to watch.

In a fast and competitive under 10 race, Conor Hughes gave it his all and battled bravely to the finish, narrowly missing out on a medal. His determination and grit were on full display and left nobody in any doubt that he’ll be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Finally, Isabelle Winters rounded off the day with an incredible run in the Under 13 1500m. The conditions were tough, with uphill stretches and wind to contend with, but Isabelle’s final 300m sprint was a sight to behold. She finished a superb 7th, setting herself up perfectly for the season ahead.

Boyne AC couldn’t be prouder of these young athletes, who demonstrated skill, determination, and true sportsmanship. Here’s to an exciting cross country season ahead.

First Aid course with order of Malta

Last Saturday the Boyne AC team of teenage athletes took part in a specially organised First Aid Course which was designed just for them, focusing on encouraging healthy and safe living while teaching the critical importance of applying the correct aid in emergency situations.

Every single one of the athletes passed with flying colours and earned their certificates. It was a proud moment for the club to see their enthusiasm and dedication throughout the course.

A massive thank you to The Order of Malta Ireland, especially the Drogheda branch, for their incredible guidance, training, and support. We couldn’t have done this without your expertise! Well done to all our athletes!
