The force of nature that is Roger Hudson is, despite being well into is eighties, still thrilling audiences with his poetry and artworks and has a mischievous contempt for the rules like someone much less than half his age.

After sitting engrossed by Roger Hudson’s poetry reading in the Brigg Bus at The Warehouse, Vauxhall R., Balbriggan, last Wednesday, members of the audience of writers and artists were invited to ask questions and discuss their own work and how to improve it.

Roger’s next contribution to the arts in Drogheda will be a reading for World Poetry Day of his selection Around the World and Through the Ages with Brian Quinn at 2pm on Saturday March 23rd in Highlanes Gallery, Laurence Street.

“We have some treasures for you,” says Roger, “starting with a 4,500 year old Sumerian priestess (first ever named poet) with leprosy and ending with a lovely anonymous one of Navaho elders preparing for death.” Admission free but booking is advised.

But it doesn’t end there – opening on May 4th., comes the three artist exhibition Assemble, Transform, Transmute with photomontages, sculpture-montages from plastic toys and ekphrastic works combining artwork and poems.
