Students from Scoil Naomh Buithe in Tenure won a trip to Drogheda United Football Club recently as part of Drogheda Credit Union’s Money Club Schools Programme.
The students enjoyed an exciting journey to Drogheda United’s home ground for a day filled with excitement and football fervour.
The day included a tour of the Drogheda United clubhouse, guided by the departing General Manager, Hubert Murphy. Students had the opportunity learn about the history of the club, exploring its past and admiring a timeline of the club’s iconic kits, with kitman Barry Sanfey.
They were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the club and there was an added surprise for the students as they received a visit from some of Drogheda United’s star players, Frantz Pierrot and Zishim Bawa.
The unexpected encounter allowed the students to interact with their football heroes, ask questions, and even engage in a friendly kick-around on the pitch.
Drogheda Credit Union extends its thanks to Drogheda United Football Club for their generosity in hosting the event. We would also like to commend Scoil Naomh Buithe for their enthusiastic participation and support of the Money Club initiative.
