The Boyne Midsummer Festival is set to return to Drogheda this June with a new day to night format taking place across two weekends.
First launched in 2024, the festival returns for 2026 with a collaborative programme celebrating local culture, music, arts and family entertainment.
Organisers say the festival has been built on partnerships between community stakeholders, businesses and cultural organisations, with this year’s programme celebrating the summer solstice through live performances, workshops and family events.
The festival features a carefully curated programme of family entertainment, craft workshops and live performances, offering daytime and evening experiences:
Daytime Activities: The festival focuses on family fun, animation, and community spirit. Key highlights include a vibrant pirate-themed family day out at Scotch Hall on Saturday 26 th and Sunday 27 th June, alongside a family fun pop-up on West Street on 20 th June.- Evening & Night Performances: As the sun sets, the festival transitions into an energetic showcase of live music and late-night culture, highlighting Drogheda’s musical and artistic talents.

Friday, 19 June: Echoes of the Abbey
The festival weekend kicks off at 9:00 PM, with an atmospheric evening performance at Abbey Lane presented by the Coffee Box in association with Droichead Arts Centre Tickets are priced at €15 and include a complimentary refreshment (wine, beer, or mineral water) with support from Graft @bruhub, who will supply some tasty food on the night, it’s the perfect evening’s entertainment Booking information and artist details can be accessed via the Droichead Arts Centre ticketing platform.
Friday, 26 June: Sound Town x Night Moves
A dynamic evening programme featuring live music and craft showcases across the town, including the ‘Night Moves’ initiative at The Coffee Box, the Boyne Trad Fest in Mc Hughs Venue, and dedicated
craft workshops at Bare Food Cafe.
Saturday, 26 and Sunday, 27 June: Family and Music Showcase
Scotch Hall will host a major family-centric itinerary during the afternoon, with Pirate and Princess-
themed activities, fancy-dress competitions, facepainting, balloons and live music.
The Boyne Midsummer Festival 2026 is organised through a partnership involving Droichead Arts Centre, Sound Town, the Drogheda Night Time Economy Advisor, Scotch Hall, The Coffee Box, Bare Food Cafe, Louth County Council and Love Drogheda BID.
