Ace AC athletes showed strong early season form at the pre Louth Championships, delivering an impressive set of performances across all age groups ahead of the main county event.
The meet provided an important warm up for the Louth Championships, with the club securing a wide spread of medals and competitive finishes throughout the day.
In the younger age groups, Moss O’Donnell took bronze in the boys under 9 60 metres, while Finn Murphy finished a solid fourth in the boys under 9 300 metres. In the girls under 10 500 metres, Millie Roche produced a strong run to place fourth, just outside the medals. Catherine Cumming claimed gold in the under 11 600 metres with an excellent performance.
At under 12 level, Sadhbh Jordan delivered one of the standout performances of the day, taking silver in the girls 500 metres.
The under 13 600 metres final was decided on times across two races, with Niamh Lynch and Sophie Black finishing second and third in their race but narrowly missing out on medals overall.
There were more strong results in the under 14 events, with Ruairi Cooney taking silver in the boys 800 metres. Caoimhe Carolan had a particularly successful day, winning gold in both the 80 metres and 800 metres, and adding a bronze medal in the long jump.
Niamh Faulkner continued her good form with gold in the girls under 15 100 metres, while in the boys under 15 800 metres Tayo Lawrence took silver and Oisín Murphy claimed bronze.
Taylor Gregory impressed in the under 16 800 metres, securing gold with a dominant performance.
At under 17 level, Aoife O’Connor took bronze in the long jump while Naiya Semple finished second. In the combined under 17 and under 19 girls 800 metres, Alessandra Peralta Dione ran strongly to win silver, with Naiya Semple adding another bronze in the same race.
In the boys under 19 800 metres, Jamie O’Reilly produced another strong run to finish joint first.
Overall, it was a highly encouraging day for Ace AC, with athletes performing strongly across all age groups and building momentum ahead of the Louth Championships.
