Miriam Simon has been elected as the new President of Drogheda and District Chamber following the organisation’s 131st Annual General Meeting.
She brings extensive experience as a business strategist and leader, with more than 30 years working at senior and board level across retail and corporate advisory sectors. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong reputation for turning complex commercial strategy and evolving consumer trends into practical, results-focused plans that drive sustainable growth.
Her professional background includes senior leadership roles with major international retail brands, where she led trading strategy, operational excellence and large-scale commercial transformation programmes. Her experience spans well-known names such as TK Maxx, Monsoon Accessorize, Life Style Sports and B and Q, providing her with in-depth expertise in scaling performance, responding to market disruption and consistently exceeding customer expectations.
In addition to her corporate career, Miriam Simon is a qualified and accredited executive coach and a member of the Institute of Directors. She is also actively involved in supporting innovation and enterprise through mentoring and evaluation roles, including work with the European Innovation Council.
Her commitment to supporting small and medium enterprises is reflected in her founding of The Retail Powerhouse, a platform that delivers practical trading insights, masterclasses and community support to help independent retailers remain competitive in a changing marketplace.
Also confirmed at the AGM was the appointment of Jasmine Mathew of Hands 4 Unity as Vice President for 2026. Breanndan Casey will serve as Secretary, with Robert Murray as Assistant Secretary and Paul Berrill as Treasurer.
Those elected to serve on the Chamber Council include Collette Farrell, Michael Gerrard, Robert Doran, Ronan Whitty, David Walsh, William Johnson, Declan Cassidy, Elizabeth Dayspring and Lyndsey Kenny.
Tributes were paid to outgoing President Naomi Tully, who was acknowledged for her leadership and contribution to advancing the work of the Chamber during her term in office.
The AGM was addressed by Mayor Michelle Hall, who highlighted the important role played by Drogheda and District Chamber within the regional business community. Louth County Council Chief Executive David Conway also attended and met with members of the newly elected Chamber Council.
Chamber CEO Hubert Murphy reported a strong year for the organisation, marked by a wide range of collaborations and networking events. He also confirmed that more than 125 new members have joined the Chamber since 2024, further strengthening the local business network.
