It was another weekend to remember for Tredagh Boxing Academy, who returned home with five gold medals, two silvers, and a special award from the Halloween Belfast International Box Cup.
The Drogheda club fielded a strong team of seven boxers: Adam Walsh, Grace Conway, Ceejay Sheelan, Cara Evans, Simon and Michael James McDonagh, and Iris Kinahan and delivered standout performances across three days of competition.
Adam Walsh opened with two dominant wins before producing a sensational performance in the final, defeating the reigning English ABA Champion to capture gold and be named “Best Overall Male Boxer” of the tournament.
Grace Conway, a nine-time All-Ireland Champion and triple European Silver Medalist, was back to her brilliant best, winning her final with a commanding display.
Ceejay Sheelan also claimed gold after outclassing his Newry opponent with precision and control.
Michael James McDonagh battled to a silver in a thrilling bout many called “fight of the tournament,” while Iris Kinahan impressed with a brave showing early in her career.
Cara Evans and Simon McDonagh were also awarded gold after their opponents withdrew, rounding off a remarkable weekend that once again confirmed Tredagh’s status as one of Ireland’s leading boxing clubs.
