Planned Water Outage to Affect Parts North Drogheda This Thursday

Uisce Éireann has advised that essential works on the water network in North Drogheda will cause a planned outage affecting customers in parts of Yellowbatter and Moneymore this Thursday, 30 October.

The works are scheduled to take place from 10am to 4pm, and customers in Patrick Street, Glenmore Drive, Nuns Walk, Bredin Street, Stoney Lane, Prospect Avenue, Thomas Street, Newfoundwell Road, Sandyford Terrace, Oulster’s Lane, Francis Street, King’s Street, Magdalene Street and surrounding areas may experience supply disruptions during this time.

Declan Healy of Uisce Éireann said every effort is being made to minimise disruption.

“We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works, and we would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation,” he said.

According to Uisce Éireann, it typically takes two to three hours after works are complete for normal water supply to fully return, although customers on higher ground or at the end of the network may experience longer delays.

When supply returns, some customers may notice discoloured water. The utility advises running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes (up to 20 minutes) until the water runs clear.

Updates on the works can be found on the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service Map at water.ie using reference number LOU00101073.

Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communications about the planned outage. Those who wish to register as a vulnerable customer or an alternative contact can do so through the Vulnerable Customers page on the company’s website.
