Louth County Council Confirms Temporary Closure of N51 for Essential Works

Temporary emergency and proposed road closures are subject to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Roads Regulation 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Louth County Council has made an order to close to public traffic, the roads described hereunder between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm on Monday 29th September to Friday 10th October 2025 to facilitate essential pavement repair works and road resurfacing.

This road will be closed for a duration of 1 week within the closure period.
         
Roads Closed:
National Primary Road N51 from the Townley Hall Junction L2321-0 to the L2322-0 towards Junction 10 in Drogheda, Co Louth for the purpose of essential pavement repair works and road resurfacing.
      
Alternative Route:
– Traffic travelling from Slane will be diverted onto the N2 to Collon R168 road to Drogheda.
– Traffic travelling from Drogheda will be diverted onto the R168 road to Collon
and diverted onto the N2 to Slane.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated in so far as possible.
