Drogheda band Pale Blue Moon back in gigging mode

New single tops the charts

It’s been a difficult couple of years in the music business but, as soon as things got moving again, Drogheda rock band Pale Blue Moon hit the ground running with their new single “Don’t Wake Up” topping the charts today and bookings to play festivals coming in almost daily.

“Don’t Wake Up”, their third number one from last year’s hit album “The Pleasure of Finding Things Out” is about the desire to keep dreaming so you can see lost loved ones and stay with them in our dreams.

This increase in activity may have something to do with the fact that Pale Blue Moon have signed a new deal with music industry veteran Gerry Lang of GL Music Management.

Pale Blue Moon are booked to play festivals in Europe (mostly in Germany and Sweden) and Ireland this summer plus a tour of South Africa in the autumn.

They have started working on their new album, currently working with their long time American Producer Brian Sperber (Feeder, Alterbridge, Myles Kennedy, Madonna, three doors down), in New York.

“The new material will be darker and heavier, with influences from Metallica to Ghost” said band spokesperson Shane Kelly.

“We will be playing in Fibber Magees in Dublin in June and hope to play in Drogheda soon after that, details will be available on our website and social media.”

Shane also told Drogheda Life that, due to Covid restrictions and in order to keep to their release schedule, the band had to film two music videos without being in them!

Regardless, the music video for the current number one single “Don’t Wake up” has attracted more than 25K views on YouTube in just 3 weeks.

Pale Blue Moon continue to achieve radio airplay all across Ireland, the UK and have been scheduled for rotation on both Canadian and USA radio stations.
