The Louth Youth Folk Orchestra, will be joined by an award winning group of Scottish folk musicians for a concert at the Barbican Centre on Sunday May 1 called “Causeway” at 7.30 pm as part of Drogheda Arts Festival.
Causeway is inspired by the story of the Giants Causeway, and the cultural connections between Scotland and Ireland.
Nós Nua, is made up of youth musicians from across Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Cavan and Armagh. The premiere of the work has been delayed by two years due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and Drogheda Arts Festival are delighted to host and premiere.
Scottish Multi-Award Winning Folk musicians Mohsen Amini and Benedict Morris have just returned from a five week tour of America, performing in 14 states with their band Talisk and will be joined by Mohsen’s bandmate from Ímar, Ryan Murphy (pipes & flute) and virtuoso guitarist Shane McCartan for this exclusive performance.
Mohsen recently flew from New York to join Nós Nua for a short preview of “Causeway” at St. Patrick’s Festival in Collins Barracks in March 2022.
