Four Drogheda dance schools are preparing to represent Ireland at the Dance World Cup Finals in Dublin this July, marking a proud achievement for the town’s dance community.

Young dancers from Starlight Academy, Kidkast, Studio A and Karma Dance Krew have all earned places on Team Ireland and will compete at the international event, which takes place in Dublin from 8th to 18th July.

The Dance World Cup brings together young performers from more than 50 countries, with competitors taking part in disciplines including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, commercial and street dance.

This year’s finals are particularly significant as they will be hosted in Ireland for the first time, with the Convention Centre Dublin welcoming thousands of dancers, coaches and supporters from around the world.

A proud moment for Drogheda dance schools

While each school qualified in its own right, their success highlights the strength of Drogheda’s dance community.

Together, the four Drogheda dance schools will represent both the town and Ireland on one of the biggest stages in youth dance, following months of training and successful performances at the national qualifiers.

For the dancers, qualifying for the finals is the reward for years of dedication, while for their teachers and families it is a chance to see their hard work recognised on an international stage.

As the countdown to July continues, the dancers will be putting the finishing touches to their routines before performing in front of judges and audiences from across the world.

The Dance World Cup Finals run from 8th to 18th July at the Convention Centre Dublin.
