Sandcastles, Bingo and Nano Reid tour the highlights of the week ahead

There’s not  a huge amount on over the next  few days but several sports clubs have fundraising events such as bingo and quiz nights. Two highlights are a walk and talk led by Brendan Matthews starting at 1pm from Highlanes Gallery on Saturday outlining the artist Nano Reid’s life and the Sandcastle competition on Bettystown Beach on Sunday afternoon.

Thursday July 21   

Farmers Market – Rock Farm, Slane 11am – 4pm

Quiz Night – In aid of Louth Schoolgirls League in Sarsfields, Chord Road 7.30pm Table of 4 – €40. 

Hurling – Louth Senior Championship – St Fechins v Naomh Moninne in Dunleer 7.30pm. 

Bingo – In aid of Drogheda Special Olympics Group in the Barbican Centre 8pm 

Friday July 22                  

Drive In Bingo – O’Raghallaigh’s GAA Centre 7.30pm. Gates open 6pm, walk ins welcome  

Social Dance – Wee County Vintage Club present Matt Leavy in aid of Motor Neuron Association in Drumshallon Forge, Ballymackenny 9pm €10

Saturday July 23                               

Drogheda Open Air Market  – Bolton Square 9 am – 1 pm

Nano Reid’s Drogheda – A walk and talk led by Brendan Matthews starting at 1pm from Highlanes Gallery outlining the artist’s life €5. Advance booking advised.

Sunday July 24                     

SOSAD Fun Day – In aid of St Fechins GFC Starts Beaulieu Football Grounds 9pm Entry €40

Walk With Us – The Drogheda branch of the Samaritans invite you to walk 7km to mark Samaritans Day. Starts St Dominics Park 2pm

National Sandcastle & Sculpturing Competition – Bettystown Beach 2.30pm Judging at 4pm

Drive In  Bingo – In aid of St Nicholas GFC in Pentony Park Rathmullen Road.3.00pm 

Monday July 25 

Drive In Bingo – In aid of Dreadnots GFC in club grounds, Clogherhead 7.30pm

Tuesday July 26                         

Bingo – In aid of Drogheda United -in the Barbican Centre. 8pm
