It was a great day for Ace AC athletes at the Setanta Games held in the Lourdes Stadium in Drogheda last weekend.
Alfie Marron kicked off the day in style winning his first ever individual medal in the long jump, despite being a year out of age.
His brother Ollie ran very well too making the final of the sprints, and running well in the 600m.
Brothers Fiachra & Oisin Murphy performed really well also. Oisin has been showing real improvements at training and reached the finals of the sprints while Fiachra performed well in both the long jump and 80m sprint. All-rounder Samuel Plunkett found yet another event and finished a strong 5th place in his first ever Shot Put.
Young athletes Lucy Reynolds, Muireann Chamass, Smirthi Prasad, and Niamh Faulkner all ran well on bayous events.
U14 athlete Naiya Semple had a great day winning gold in the long jump and bronze in the 800m with Lauren Faulkner just behind her in 4th. Training partner Aoife O’Connor won silver in the same long jump competition.

Tayo Lawrence competed in the long jump and jumped a new PB of 3m 95 to claim bronze and he also won a silver in the 600m.
U15 athlete Niamh Finerty competed well in the long lump and was part of the 3rd place relay team of Chloe Cooney, Lauren Faulkner and Naiya Semple.
Sholah Lawrence won u16 gold in both the long jump and the 800m, with Chloe Hanley in 3rd place.
In the u16 sprints, Kate Culhane finished in 2nd place with Chloe Hanley in 4th. Training partnerCiara O’Connor won gold in the same sprint. Sholah, Kate, Ciara, and Chloe also won gold in the u16 girls relay.
U19 Al rounder Adam Rusell left with 3 medals winning gold in the 800m, silver in the long jump, and bronze in the 100m sprint.

Daniel Hanley continued his good form winning a silver medal in the u15 boys 800m all while securing a new PB, and in the same race, Tadgh Forde Dunne ram very well and also secured a 5 second PB. Tadgh had finished 4th in the Shot Put earlier in the day. Luca Mc Loughlin also ran well in that 800m.
U16 Lorcan Forde Dunne won his 800m comfortably with training partner Jamie O’Reilly continuing his improvements finishing in 3rd place. Lorcan joined brother Tadgh, Luca McLoughlin, and Daniel Hanley to win the boys u16 relay.
