Water supply has been restored to Uisce Éireann customers in the Cooley Peninsula area after an outage caused by a major burst on the network yesterday. Customers in Cooley Peninsula, Rath, Omeath, Carlingford, Jenkinstown and surrounding areas were impacted by outages on Thursday as a result of this burst.
Repairs began yesterday morning and continued throughout the day before water supply gradually returned to impacted homes and businesses overnight.
Uisce Éireann’s Operations Manager James O’Hagan said: “We understand the disruption an unplanned outage like this can cause and would like to thank customers for their patience while crews worked to repair this major burst.”
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers. However, it may take longer for customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Any customer who has not had their normal supply restored this morning should contact Uisce Éireann’s customer team on 1800 278 278.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278, and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries.
