The following update has just been received (4.35 pm) from Louth County Council on Narrow West Street:
- The building at 74-76 West Street will take approximately 3 weeks to demolish.
- The demolition along the delicate front wall will be required to be done by hand.
- Once the first & second floor are demolished , a decision can be made on whether the road/footpath can be reopened .
- Louth County Council has requested the owner of the building to retain & repair the ground floor shopfront of this Protected Structure. This will require special protective measures, however it is envisaged these should not have a significant impact on through traffic.
- All demolition works shall be carried out under the supervision of Chartered Structural Engineers.
