Up to €10k Available to Help Louth Businesses Expand into New International Markets

The Market Explorer Grant from Louth’s Local Enterprise Office (LEO) is now available to help local businesses expand into new international markets.

According to Niall Gallagher, Senior Enterprise Development Officer, the grant offers both funding and expert advice to help companies research new opportunities, find potential buyers, and navigate the process of trading overseas.

Breaking into new markets can be challenging, and this grant is designed to simplify the process.

It can cover a variety of costs, including market research, attending trade fairs, and travel to meet clients.

Dónal Geraghty, CEO of local business SeaPark Consultancy, credits similar support with helping his company expand its global reach and build a client portfolio that includes major brands like Coca-Cola and Burberry.

He encourages other businesses to consider the grant.

The grant is open to small businesses in manufacturing or eligible internationally traded services that have been trading for at least 12 months. It provides funding for up to 50% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €10,000.

Gallagher notes that in a climate of trade uncertainty, expanding into new markets is a key part of building resilience.

The grant provides local businesses with the confidence and resources to make that vital leap, ensuring their business remains steady and has room to grow.
