Two men have been arrested following an incident on the M1 in County Louth where traffic was blocked.
Gardaí said the incident occurred northbound after Junction 14 near Ardee at around 6pm on Monday, when a number of articulated tractor units were observed blocking the motorway.
On arrival, Gardaí directed the vehicles to move onto the hard shoulder.
Following engagement with the drivers of the two lead vehicles, both men were arrested under the Road Traffic Act on suspicion of dangerous driving offences.
They have since been charged and are due to appear before Drogheda District Court on Tuesday, April 14 at 10.30am.
Both vehicles involved have been impounded.
Junction 14 connects the M1 with the N33 and is located between Castlebellingham and the Dunleer North junctions.
