Two Fishermen Rescued After Razor Boat Sinks Off Bettystown Coast

Two fishermen had a lucky escape after their razor boat sank last Saturday evening.

They were rescued by a boat that was fishing in the water near them off the Bettystown coast around 6pm.

It is understood that they spent ten minutes in the water and were wearing life jackets before they were pulled to safety.

They were both brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment by ambulance when they arrived ashore. They were later let home after being medically examined.

Another razor vessel was also rescued late on Thursday/Friday night in bad weather along the Balbriggan/Skerries and was later towed back to Clogherhead by the Clogherhead Lifeboat.

The crew dropped anchor when the boat started taking in water and they lost power.

It later drifted and was located by the Clogherhead Lifeboat crew, who rescued the fishermen on board.
