The ghosts, ghouls, and headless skeletons are getting ready to take over Drogheda once again for the 2025 Drogheda Credit Union Spooks Parade, launching this year’s Lú Festival of Light.
The spooky spectacle kicks off on Friday, October 24th at 6.15pm, starting from Droichead Arts Centre, Barlow House, Narrow West Street.
This year’s theme — “EveryBODY Needs SomeBODY” — promises a creative twist, as Kada Ka Boom Arts and Droichead Arts Centre join forces with local artists, students, and community groups to fill the streets with music, movement, and Halloween magic.
Expect headless skeletons, body-less skulls, and plenty of Drogheda-style fun as the town lights up for the opening of the Lú Festival.
Taking part are pupils from Scoil Aonghusa and Marymount NS in Drogheda, Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh in Laytown, and Whitecross NS in Julianstown. And if you’re feeling brave — or spooky — you’re welcome to join the parade in costume and walk through the town!
The event is part of the Leanbh Children’s Festival, funded by the Arts Council, Creative Ireland, Drogheda Credit Union, and Louth County Council.
