COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 14 OF THE DERELICT SITES ACT 1990 (AS AMENDED)

(NOTICE UNDER SECTION 15(1)(A) OF THE DERELICT SITES ACT, 1990) (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE DERELICT SITE COMPULSORILY UNDER

THE DERELICT SITES ACT, 1990 (AS AMENDED).

LOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL

St Kevins, Carrickmacross Road, Dundalk A91 T9H0, Co. Louth

  1. Notice is hereby given that Louth County Council (hereinafter referred to as the “Local Authority”) in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by Section 14 of the Derelict Sites Act 1990 (as amended), intend to acquire compulsorily under the said Act the derelict site described hereunder.
  2. A map of the said derelict site has been deposited at County Hall Millennium Centre Dundalk Co. Louth A91 KFW6 and may be inspected there during the hours of 09.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
  3. Any owner, lessee or occupier (except a tenant for a month or a period less than a month) may, on or before 19th day of December 2025 at 17.00 submit to the Local Authority an objection to the proposed compulsory acquisition of the derelict site. Any such objection must be in writing stating the grounds of the objection and addressed to the Local Authority at: Vacant Homes Officer County Hall Millennium Centre Dundalk Co. Louth A91 KFW6.
  4. The Derelict Sites Act 1990 (as amended) provides that if an objection is made to the proposed compulsory acquisition of a derelict site and the objection is not withdrawn, the derelict site shall not be acquired compulsorily by the local authority without the consent of An Coimisiún Pleanála.

Description of the Derelict Site proposed to be acquired

A derelict site comprising a 2-storey end of terrace red brick residential building situate at Carrickmacross Road, Dundalk A91 T9H0, Co. Louth containingcc0.0265 hectares or thereabouts. The said property and surrounding land is inca state of dereliction. The said derelict site is more particularly shown outlined
in Red on the map bearing reference DS 2023 069 in the Derelict SitecRegister established and maintained by Louth County Council under section 8cof the Derelict Site Act 1990(as amended).
