Show your solidarity with refugees on Ukrainian Independence Day

Ukrainian Independence Day is this Thursday, August 24th and It would be a nice gesture to wear a ribbon or scarf in the Ukrainian blue and yellow national colours to show your solidarity with the Ukrainian citizens who have come to live in our town to escape the brutal Russian bombardment of their home country.

In Ukraine Independence Day is the main public holiday, and this Thursday Ukraine will be celebrating 31 years of independence from the Soviet Union.

All around Ireland communities of Ukrainians will be celebrating their country’s independence even after 18 months of war after the Russian invasion. In Drogheda there will be a Childrens art exhibition at the Droichead Arts Centre starting at 11.00am. Admission is free.
